I need not say how great would be the advantage
if the expense and loss of time now
employed upon bathing could be got rid of
in cutaneous disorders in general, besides
the privation and inconvenience in many
shapes attendant upon those restrictions in
the way of diet, which I could not help regarding
as being in no small degree fanciful.
An intelligent young friend of mine tells
me of a sort of society, pretty numerous, as operating
upon paupers and others on a large scale, in
disorders of this kind, and with success, using
mercury, upon principles similar to those of
Mr. Watson. Might this not be worth inquiring
after more particularly with a view to the it's introduction
of into French practice?
