The Metropolitan thinks it would be
unwise to attempt to discipline the present
bands who have proved their wonderful
effeciency. He would however have
a force disciplined for the protection of
the forts and important passes
All the public bodies and eminent
public men I have conversed with agree
in the expediency of changing the Government
of the Ionian Islands. To promote
this end I have written to Lord Hastings.
I shall also endeavour to move the German
and Come and the (50) I believe Greek students
at Bologna and the (30) Greek students
at Pisa to address His Lr and get their addresses
sent home for publication. The
