Posology, 15 March 1831.

Unless the quantity of matter published
be limited by the practical use capable of being made of
it, every additional treatise, will instead
of diminishing encrease the difficulty.

The information contained in Euclids Elements
Euclid's data and the treatises on Trigonometry
should be condensed into one body.

In Cunas Euclid Trigonometry and
Logarithms are included: and in
treating of Trigonometry he introduces
the equivalence as between geometrical
and algebraic demonstration. So in Humes Additions

Sole use of demonstration, prevention of
error in application to practice. [+]1

[+]1 When this is accomplished and by the shortest
every thing else shall remain unread — "Les voile
"les bibliotheques bien ecl
"

At commencement begin with the analytic
order: but where points are thus arrived at,
thenceforward the synthetic must be employed.

being learnt.

In early days of art & science
this sort of denominations
sprinkled over the field of
art & science: served to
distinguish cultivated
from uncultivated —
lately limited to language-
learning.

In the early days of Art & Science these over comprehensive
denominations the result of narrow experience
and narrow view became sprinkled over the
field of Art and Science. By erudition it is
designated every thing by which the cultivated is
distinguished from the uncultivated mind: and by
that means any one branch of art and science
as well as any other: of late years it seems to have
been nearly limited to language learning more
particularly
