Iron Bars on the outside to only the lowest floor and 1/2 floor. to the other stories, horizontal laths projecting horizontally, to prevent the prisoners from hanging by their hands in order to drop down, So on the inside man high - above per sufficient - the Barricado Hulks The post principally to be fortified is the Lodge. with the Store underneath. This being impregnable no matter for their getting into the intermediate Areas. And there the surface being less extensive other expence will be less. The Intermediate Area might have a concentric palisade of running all to separate the Prisoners part from the other - or of netting - It might be at the distance of the Guttery rail all round. Plan for the admission of long Timbers for sawing and planing. THis can only be at the Ground floor. This must be by a sort of iron gate-flapping up or down - or in folding doors, with iron plates - with in them to be let down
