Frauds relative to the Coin
2. Cases where the intent may not be fraudulent, viz; 1. Experiment Accordingly a piece of genuine coin is not diminished with
a fraudulent intent if the diminution be effected only in the
way of experiment for the advancement of science: for instance
by assaying the piece or exposing it to a partial dissolution,
taking care afterwards not to pass it off as if it were undiminished.
3 2. Curiosity. Or any how in the in any way of curiosity; as by taking the half of
one piece of coin and causing it to screw on to the correspondent

[(AA) Profit] 4 Where, having received diminished or counterfeit
Coin at the same Value as if it had been undiminished and
