Kinds of Hostility

In order to explain more fully
what has been hinted at just before, it may be
proper to observe that the same physical Act
may at once in Virtue of some such Tendency
belong to the third Class, (or Class, as for this
Purpose we may call it, of Accessories) and also
as having an assignable Object & specific Mischief
of it's own, come under the Denomination of
some Principal, and in that Sense be referable
to one of the two others. The Crime of Killing
the supreme Magistrate will be readily recognized
as an Instance to this purpose. The Distinction
therefore made above between Accesories proper pure &
improper mixed respecting such as are so to single Principals,
extends to those which are so to a whole Class
of Principals at once +

Such amphibious Crimes are
commonly classed according as their Mischief
as Accessories or as Principals is conceived so
predominate
