Concerning the formalities of giving notice general regulations
may be laid down: for these in every instance
may be the same.

In the first place it is to be observed, that whatsoever
be the matter of fact that forms the purport of the notice, who ever be the person signifying
it the summoner: whatever whoever be the
persons whose commands are it signifies, by whose order
the punishment will be inflicted for not doing what it
requires to be done, the Court: whoever be the party
to whom the command or other matter of fact is signified, the summoner,
what is done is still done by the general authority
of the Law. The Law is throughout the one identical div
invisible person who commands, give notice, and if
disobeyed will punish.

For all sorts of notices this of all therefore that issue Symbol
from the Law let one general symbol be devised, to be
stamped at the head of the instrument of notice. Let
this be for example the Figure of Justice delivering
a Paper scroll and another of a figure of Mercury receiving it

A particular part to be attended to in adjusting the formalities
of notice, is in what capacity the Summoner
is affected by the Law command mandate in question: whether
as a party bound by it, or as a party favoured by
