bravery shown by you against the Turks on the Liman
of Otchakoff, and as a mark of Her high favour, has
graciously been pleased to present you with a Sword
with an Inscription commemorating your valour.
I transmit it to you in the full persuasion that the
favour of the Sovereign will excite your zeal to
distinguish yourself by fresh exploits; and I remain
