Superannuation Annuities</head>
<p>Art. 6. And Whereas the adjustment of the plan of the said Annuities<lb/>
in the most beneficial manner to the situations and exigencies of different descriptions of<lb/>
individuals is a business that may require the aid of experience to bring it to maturity,<lb/>
And Whereas the idea of establishing a fund for this purpose at the expence of the<lb/>
Governor originated with and was spontaneous on the part of the said Jeremy Bentham<lb/>
And Whereas the same being to be raised out of a portion of the earnings of<lb/>
the said Prisoners the productiveness thereof must depend upon the success of his endeavours<lb/>
to reap a profit from their labour, Be it enacted that during the continuance of<lb/>
the said Jeremy Bentham in the office of Governor the funds for the payment of the<lb/>
said Annuities shall continue in his hands subject nevertheless to the superintending<lb/>
power of the Courts ordinary and extraordinary as aforesaid.</p>

<p>Art. 7. The said Jeremy Bentham on the expiration of his Governorship whether<lb/>

uses either by Deed or Will, subject always to he superintending power of the said<lb/>
Courts as aforesaid: which Settlement shall, in default of the said Jeremy Bentham,<lb/>
be made by order of the said Courts.</p>

House wherever situated and through the Governor thereof for the time being,<lb/>
who shall accordingly stand charged therewith as towards the Annuitants, saving to<lb/>
him his timely recourse against the private Representatives of the said Jeremy<lb/>
Bentham or of any future Governor, or any other persons who may stand charged<lb/>
with the same in chief.</p>

Superannuation Annuities

Art. 6. And Whereas the adjustment of the plan of the said Annuities
