Of Falshoods in general

In Forgery Perjury, as before the averment must have
been accompanied by a particular solemnity: in
Forgery, it need not be accompanied by any such
solemnity. It need not in any of the three species
of Forgery: in two of them, Forgery by fabrication,
and Forgery by alteration it cannot.

Characteristic facts in Personation and Forgery, what. The particular facts which in Personation
and Forgery must have been averred in the first instance
may be stiled the characteristic facts.

And that, notwithstanding the narrowness of the characteristic fact in Personation and Forgery With the universality of extent thus attributed to
all falshoods indescriminately, what has been said
of the characteristic facts in personation and
forgery may at first sight appear to be incompatible.
So indeed the it would be, were those facts
the only false facts which those offences were respectively
calculated to convey. This however is not the

than to gain credit and as it were make room
for other facts as false unreal as the first: and if the
characteristic primary facts are can bethe means of producing mischief
as the to others, or the inculcating them be the means of
producing any advantage to the inventor it
