16 July 1808 + 232 After Query 6
2 Treasury. Why not applied to

Among Of the documents by which my discharge might
have been facilitated, I had indeed the mortification
to find some articles missing: but in no one
instance was there of did I observe any such deficiency, by which
in respect to the article in question my right to discharge could be affected: because in
the no one the instance of no one article article of disbursement was there any such
deficiency, but that of the same disbursement better
evidence better than the missing non- forthcoming evidence, viz I mean evidence
from the same source, and in a better shape
was at my command, and ready to be produced; — instead of a piece of paper writing, signed only by
the proposer of the person whose assertion it purported to
exhibit, (which assertion might consequently without
any peril to the person by whom it was made be either
true or false) the assertion of the same person sanctioned corrobated
sanctionable capable of being corroborated at the pleasure of the Board, corroborated by the sanction
of an oath, and that applied to it in which ever of
the usual modes, the it might be the pleasure of the
Board to require.
