Prosecutor

(a) In some cases it is made culpable in an
informer to compound without leave of licence from the Court
but a prohi much is not to be expected from a
prohibition were it even universal, which it is
the interest of both parties to elude [In the
few instances in which prosecutions are set in
foot] In the dispute which made so much noise
that happen'd tother day between two gentlemen
relative to money won at play the prosecutions
which were had been commenced on both sides were and
had been brought to the stage of trial, were agreed to be settled in court by the counsel on both sides
dropt by mutual agreement made in court
the Judge sitting on the bench, and verdicts
for the defendants taken under his eye.
