A conspiracy to introduce the Spanish Constitution into Prussia has been
discovered. At the head of it stood a Nobleman in the neighbourhood of
a relation of M. von Humboldt the late Minister. A great number of
country people had pledged themselves by oath to support him, his design
was to take by surprise Stargard, a strong town, where a depôt farms
belonging to the Landwehr would have furnished the means necessary for
such a project. He probably stood in connection with some powerful people
in Poland, where the Russian Government is much detested. A short
time before the Conspirators intended to begin their work, the plot was
discovered & 14 members arrested. The Government is anxious to prevent
any thing transpiring of this accident, which although ineffectual proves
enough that sooner or later, our military despotism must have an end.
