possessed so many privileges and prorogations;
but the people was deprived of these many
benefits; and still we have seen the people
run to defend it on every occasion. The love
of the country is therefore a passion pervading
pe the who all classes of inhabitants: it may
be called constitutes their character, and their virtue. They people
unit to it the besides, the qualities of mildness
with an undaunted courage, – of irritability with easiness
to forgive wrongs & of ardour and zeal with
perseverance, and patience where ever the cause
of their country is concerned.

Dispossession for revolution
If you ask me the question: Whether the Poles would make
make revolution? I would answer: Look to their
history moral political and moral – before and
after their partition: and hence conclude whether
they had been in waiting assign , on
their part, neglected any thing? If they could, they would,
but in the situation they are now they cannot. The trinity
Holy Alliance bears presses them to their its bosom. In proof of this
look to those the number of Poles who but lately fought in the cause of liberty
and fight still wars in Greece; – and to the number
numbers of those who in consequence of their generous efforts live years
