Let thy peace be ours when falling
Gently down the graves abysses.
When Thy angels unconscious, calling
Welcomes us to thrones of bliss

Make our Spirit pure & holy;
Thine our hymns to heavenly peace
All besides one earth is folly
All beyond is worthlessness.

Folly's path with gloom is shaded
All its joys a failing troubled sea
All its hope a floweret faded
And a blank its memory.

Bright may be the stars above it
Fair the smiling landscape round;
But with none to bless, or to love it
All a desolate waste is found.
