Property a benefit — opposite
to a benefit is a burthen

Property in whatsoever shape possessed
is a benefit. Correspondent and opposite
in nature to a benefit is a burthen.

Burthen 1 absolute or
2 relative

A burthen may be either 1. absolute
or 2. Relative, bearing relation to a correspondent benefit.
In this case, there is a mixture of two opposite
ingredients, of which, in the case in
question whatever it may be, either may
be preponderant: In case of such preponderancy,
there will be a balance, or net result,
which, according to the amount, may tender
the compound, equivalent in value to either
a benefit or a burthen as the case may be.
