1830. Augt. 6
J.B. to France Review

I say again his creators. For, if ever he
is made, by whom will he have been made?
By the Charter? by himself? or by you –
by us – yes by us – for you have given me a
right to say so – by us the people.

By whom made – this is no question of
mere words: for behold the consequence. By whom
sown he will have been made, by the sower
he may at any time be unmade. If by you
made, by you he may at any time be unmade.

If by you he remains to be made, by your
choice, conditions to his continuing to be that which
he will have been made may be annext: conditions
in the state of them to which the Kings of Arragn
used to subscribe: if you do and so thing, you remain
King: if otherwise, if King you cease to be:
if you behave yourself so and so, you continue to
be what we made you: if otherwise, you cease
to be.

Now then what shall be the conditions?
