§. Remedies indicated

The fees payable to the several official persons being
determined by the operations, fit the performance of
which, ⊞ ⊞ and the written instruments, for the preparing and exhibition of which the cause the suit, under and a plan of, according to the established course
of practice, is understood to give occasion, and
the number of these operations and together with the quantity of time and labour
bestowed upon each, depending upon circumstances
not upon the value of the vessel and cargo but upon
other circumstances which have no other than an
accidental, if any, connection with the magnitude
of that value, hence it is that a mass of costs
thus produced which in the case of one one case its vessel and
cargo shall not be of magnitude sufficient to produce <add>exercise in the character
of a motive any influence on the a Commanders conduct</add>
cargo shall produce no sensible defalcation from
the profits of the Commander and Captain shall in another case
cut so deep into them as to render convert the commander
not with trying for receiving it any endeavour to captain the
vessel into an act of imprudence.
