Enactive. Expositive. Ratiocinative | |||
Art. 7. By Quasi-Jurors, collectively termed a Quasi- | |||
Jury, understand — an ever-changing body of <gap/> Assessors, | |||
convened from the body of the people at large, for the | |||
purpose of its serving, by the exercise given to their its functions | |||
which consist in the applying as a check, applied to the power of the | |||
permanent permanent Judges: which same power, but were it not for this and other checks, | |||
as per §.32 Securities for appropriate aptitude, would be | |||
altogether arbitrary; enabling them its possessors respectively on each occasion, to | |||
substitute promote their own particular and sinister interests to at the expense of the | |||
interest of the community at large in respect of justice. | |||
By its name, this semi-judicial body, stiled a Quasi-Jury, bears reference | |||
to the Judicial body stiled, in English=bred Law, | |||
a Jury: of which, without possessing the vitious features, | |||
it is designed to exercise the beneficial influence. | |||

Enactive. Expositive. Ratiocinative Art. 7.
