As to the amending legislator legislator of 1809, when by his amending and
improving hand the consolidated mass was taken up,
were now at least out of the question. But when he in
the course of his prolusions it occurred to him to track upon he too came to the subject of
bounty money, either the above mentioned short section
about in which the subjects of sal bounty and that of salvage bounty money and salvage are disposed of
in one breath together must either have been overlooked by him, have
been forgotten by him, or been considered by him as
waste paper.

By the above general sweeping clause "all regulations herein contained
"respecting prizes shall apply to all cases of bounty
"money granted by this Act": a regulation requiring that regulations of which it contains there are in it so many
in the case of prize money unclaimed shares shall "be
"paid into Greenwich Hospital, is a regulation are regulations respecting
prizes. Yet some how or other therefore under a and by virtue
of the above sweeping provision, if virtue it has any,
of all bounty money coming into the hands of an Agent
under the name in the shape character of bounty money, the unclaimed shares
should be paid into the said Hospital. After Yet this, somehow
or other in relation to this the conception of the Right Honourable
amender (§. 30) is that if where money be is "considered as
a Bounty gratuitously given, the .... the unclaimed shares
"would for that reason not be paid into Greenwich Hospital"
at a signal of which failure as a signal at
least if not a conveyance, it occurrs to him is
that they might not be accounted for in any manner;
such is the supposition upon which he proceeds when he goes
on and on his way disposes of the subject of the Bounty
money in the course of remaining lines.†
