18 Jany. 1811
J.B. to Treasury
18
Letter 11
(2)
,p>26
So in the h being
assured J.B. accepts
it, but only because
otherwise he would
get nothing
This, Sir, is clearly in every other particular than
the antecedent fixation of the day and the set responsibility
of the form subjection to the law (I mean in the burthensome sense of the
word responsibility) does the appellation do the characters of Bankruptcy
belong to the transaction, that time and
for no other reason than that the any debtors are within
the rules — in the period, and that not promised is held out to h
use as the composition the utmost composition, that
I am allowed so much as to think of.
Well, Sir, in the period I will accept, if
it be impossible no more will be paid send only if
no more will be paid, and because no more will be
paid and because half a loaf is better than no
bread: but I do not accept it, but for these reasons
and declaring these to be my reasons, and because
it has ben been my misfortune to have for my
debtors a firm when shop is within of the Kings Bench, [and whose
seat is above the law] and to whom it is matter
of pride and as well as safety to be above the rules of good Common
faith and honesty as well as those of law.
