AESTIMATION 6 — 2nd Order.

This distinction will be apprehended conceived by seeing it exemplified between Embezzlement &
Common Theft. In the case of a Theft, the Neighbours and are most more alarmed than those
who may hear of it at a distance, on the mere account of their being nearer to the impulse of the
Alarm, the momentum of which is returned diminished by in proportion to the space it passes through. But besides this Their Alarm is also
greater on another account: viz: their perceiving that there is a person lurking about who pitches
indiscriminately on all around him, (viz: that neighbourhood) for the objects of his residue — On
