Greek Boys

☞ Quere what to do with this about the Boys? 1 To send it to the
Greek Newspaper? 2 To include it in my letter to the Senate? 3 To
make a detailed paper of it inclosed with that to the Senate, with a request they they if
they think fit will
give publication to it
when they think fit?

It will be read
to the Legislative Council,
or otherwise disposed of,
for example by being sent
to the a Government Newspaper,
as they may be
pleased to direct.

In regard to the Greek Youths whom Mr Blaquere
brought hither for education, I have observed in one of the
Greek Newspapers, a little misconception, which it is seems incumbent on
me to rectify. Three is there mentioned as the number for which
I had indication to provide. Two and two only was is the
number to which my engagement applied. This appears
from the printed work, published here in London
by Colonel Stanhope intituled
p. in which is insisted the commission given to him
on that subject by me: as also from my correspondence on the subject with
your deputies here, as contained in two letters, one from
me to them dated March 1824 the other from them to me
dated March 1824: and the time mentioned mentioned as that during which my
engagement for their maintenance and education here was
to continue, stands limited to those years The expence
to me will for the time be from about £160 to about £180
a year D 850£ more or less Per annum

There will be No disappointment however will I
flatter myself be experienced on that account. Ten
is the number of boys youths whom Mr Blacquere took
charge of. Greek papers Regretted to the degree that may be imagined one of them died on the passage
Of the 9 that arrived, one has been taken charge
of by a friend of mine, who is with whom I have liberty every now and then to see being my
friend being
highly delighted with
him, and entertaining in relation to his intellectual
proficiency, and political usefulness, the most sanguine expectation

The two, whom, upon hearing the reports of those the trustworthy persons
with whom they have been stationed for the purpose of having having
to hold conversation in English, I have taken
charge of one Stamos Naxos: son, if I am not
misinformed, of a of an of the Eparch of Livadia in your country
take one of the number of your august , and Eustratios Rallis.
