the misery suffering to individuals has been shewn also
to be clear and uncompensated. May I venture at length to come to this conclusion that The subsistent Law therefore inflicting
Death inflicting dea upon the mother who destroys
her child is [an] inexpedient [Law], and that
any other Law inflicting any punishment upon an act of this
sort, (since if Death is inefficacious we may conclude
in this instance that a less punishment would be still more so,)
would be inexpedient likewise.

But to clear up this question still further and to
permitt as little as may to upon conjecture, let us
suppose that if the Law were taken away, Child-Murders
destruction Loss would be sustained by the State by means of would be committed in the way of Child Murder
