Rej of Naglowice – the founder of Polish poetry. His
style is sententious, even proverbial, – & his condensed
Musins are still preserved & frequently quoted by the
people. The style of his poetry is didactic. He prepared
the way for Kochanowski. His prose is highly esteemed.
It is the application of a philosophical spirit to the daily
interests & daily wants of mankind.
