J.B. v. G.3.
Denmark compelled by Geo. 3, to break its defensive
treaty with Russia when attacked by Sweden.
From Debates, vol. Debrett's Parliamentary Register; 1789; vol XXVI. p.249
House or Lords – Great anxiety expressed by the
Lord Chancellor to prevent disclosures to keep the
whole business as secret as possible: in defence
against against a motion by Viscount Stormont
for production of papers: being evidently for the
purpose of making opposition to this measure
of George III's but without any other support
than vague generalities about the balance of
power: as to the injustice held up to view
by Anti-Machiavel nothing said – not so
much as an allusion made: about impolicy all,
about injustice nothing.
See the commencement of L Stormont's
attack p. 245.
