In foppery's clergy's pride – would sometimes partly hold
With the grim spirit who looks me & smiles forgets them not
In
But sits – & grins in dark malignant joy
On our worlds antics! – they would revel him –
Forsooth, in glory triumphs: – Some, perhaps, there are
Who might compete & say We too have slain
Thousands & ten of thousands – We have led
Brother 'gainst brother – & have drenched the earth
With human blood – We too have filled up guards
With hundreds for a morning meal –

Merciless ravagers! – heroes if you will
For heroes are but licenced robbers who view mere
And murder is their whose trade be murder

A fool may seem a wise man – if he will
Look gaze like an Owl & keep his tongue but still
