§. 14. Enslavement.

Enslavement is where, for the sake of profit(1), a certain
person the delinquent the enslaver, causes of contributes(1) to cause
a certain other person2 (the person enslaved enslavee)(2) to be kept
in a state of unlimited subjection, for the with intent
that he may so continue in such state for the whole of his life, or for
an unlimited length of time(3).

Exposition

made or expected to be produced.

this case be produced reaped or expected to be produced reaped.

1. Forced Productive Labour in all its varieties. This of course extends to
all ages

2. Prostitution in the way of Profit by pleasure of Sexual intercourse. Youth
will naturally be the principal season here in view.

3. Encrease of profit by mendicity, viz. by heightening the
appearance of that distress by which sympathy is endeavoured
to be extracted excited, and pecuniary
supply obtained. In this case Infancy is the most commonly the
state of the person enslaved. But it may be that blindness, or any other infirmity by which the person is rendered helpless may be rendered instrumental to the same evil purpose.

4. Letting out to him for one or more of the above purposes.

5. Sale for do one or more of the above purposes.

6. Conceive that, for its sole efficient motive the illegal act
has had the gratification of vengeance, or of pure antipathy
on any other account. Here is still profit: profit
by gratification of the irascible appetite antisocial affection.
