Propositions
Proposed to be reported in and by [- or say- for the subject
matter of] a Report, proposed to be appointed by his Majesty,
to inquire into the most beneficial course capable
of being taken, for the amendment of the Law.

Note.
A pair of documents capable of being referred to as
constituting a precedent for the paper here in question
are in the House of Common's Paper intituled "Report made
to his Majesty by the Commissioners appointed to inquire into
the Practice of Chancery,-1 "A paper of Propositions":
speaking of which in page 10, the Commissioners in , says "we have
venture to propose many alterations in that practice, which
the said Commissioners stile it "an explanatory paper, prepared
" by one of our own body who is very conversant with
"the principle and practice of the Court of Chancery: and
"which, without pledging ourselves to the whole of it's contents,
"we think will be found a very useful and valuable comment
"upon those Propositions to which it refers." p.10.
At the outset, to obviate the objection of imcompleatness of extent or deficiency
of d, give inimation that no small body which could have have been given been
for borne to be given, under
the notions of necessity.
