Supposing the quantity of cash [in the metropolis]
undiminished

There then we see two a <add>new double source</add> sources of profit opened
or left open by the measure to the Banking Houses of the Metropolis
— 1. Profit by interest of Annuity Note paper kept in
reserve, instead of cash to answer draughts;: instead of cash] - and -
2. Profit by Annuity Note paper kept for customers,
upon terms. These profits Suppose the quantity
of cash in the metropolis to be undiminished by
the measure the amount of the above profits will even this purpose will be meat. Will it
remain undiminished ? In the affirmative seems highly probable —

One circumstance Among the efforts of the measure
is one , that to a certain degree that will can not fail the tendency of which is to measure that quantity .
The cash which now remains , and would otherwise hav remained in
the hands of the frugal poor , in p unproductive hoards ,
being now poud poured put into the hands of Government hands the Commissioners of Redemption through the medium <add>paid of the Annuity Note Offices ,</add> in return for Annuity Note paper , will
be restored to the circulation , and add to the quantity
put into the hands of Bankers.
