5. C Defraudment by false standards

False False Standards are either [standards] of quantity
or [standards] of quality . Standards of quantity are either
of weight or measure . By standards are meant
in this case any instruments which serve to shew
the thing in question to be in a certain such or such a
quantity or of such or such a quality . Standards
may be false in themselves ; or made so in the manner of
applying them .

Defraudment by false standards may be
committed in either of two ways : 1. by making
use of such as are false in themselves : 2.
by making a fraudulent application of such as
are not false . in thems

Defraudment by false standards how committed By standards are meant in this case , any
instruments which are made use of for shewing a
thing to be in such or such a quantity , or of such or
such a quality . Standards then are either of quantity(A)
or quality(B). Standards of quantity are either of weight(C)
or measure . Standards may be false either in themselves(D)
or in the manner of applying(E) them .
