Updating site messages and features

You can, and should, edit many of the site messages, where it is possible to assist the user by providing more detailed information specific to this site.

There is a very big list at Special:AllMessages: if you know some of the content of what you are looking for, use browser Find feature to locate it.

Links to useful message pages

• MediaWiki:Mainpage sets the Home Page of the wiki.
• MediaWiki:Sitenotice contains any text that you want to appear at the top of every page. Useful for important sitewide announcements.
• MediaWiki:Copyrightstatement2 is the text that appears on the Edit Page, before the Save button. (There is also MediaWiki:Copyrightstatement which appears elsewhere, not sure where: it may be worth keeping these two in sync.)
• MediaWiki:Confirmemail_text is the text of the email message sent to users on registration. You may want to add additional instructions or information.
