Alehousekeepers and Inn keepers Law. Sect. I. Formularies

This Hundred will be held on ______day of September
at _____o'clock in the ____ noon. , when and
where you are to apply in order to obtain a license
for the ensuing year ensuing beginning at the 29th day of September.
And you are then are there also to be ready
with two [competent] persons as your sureties to enter into a recognizance
binding you under a penalty of £10 to be paid
by yourself and 5£ by each of your surities, to
not to use or suffer to keep good
good order and rule within your house [and its' appurtanances ]
and not to suff use or suffer any unlawful games, Or if
you should be hindered from personally appearing yourself
then your two surities must bind themselves to the same
effect under a penalty of £10 each. And if you were
not licensed at the last General licensing time, then you
msut also then and there produce a Certificate under the hands of the Resident
Minister and the major part of the Churchwardens
and Overseers, or else of at least thre ereputable and substantial
householders of the parish [you now live in] you
have mostly lived in for .... past, setting forth that
you are of good fame, and sober life and conversation.
[If you fail on any of the above particulars you cannot
have any license till next year.]
