start: this is not mere innocent tautology: for the
change of words naturally leads a man to look for
a change in the Ideas which they express are to represent <add>put for</add>; Things identical Ideas clothed in the guise language of diversity nor can
he if be satisfied of their Identity, if at all, till after
he has sent his wits in have been upon search after every possibility
of difference in vain.

So immense is the Law, & in many parts so unknown, that a man can never be assured concerning but that it has of any [especially] under circumstance of such suspicion but that it may have had contracted some latent peculiar in virtue of some usage or decision of which he is not aware, & been metamorphosed without his knowing it into a term of not but that a word which he might innocently suppose like other words has been metamorphosed some where in a some corner into a term of art - Where it is consider'd for example who it is, that can his not knowing the difference between the word timer & the word purport, what who is that Lawyer is it (for I say nothing of other men at large many who will dispute, but that this case may be his own?
