The other existing Colonies have all of them their
productions: which though raised by capital withdrawn
out of their respective Mother Countries, and defended
at the expence of the inhabitants of those Mother Countries,
have however been raised, and raised freely by
persons individuals choosing to give that distant employment to their
respective capitals, rather than instead of employing them at home.

But, in a country situated situated in the situation
of New South Wales, there is no reason whatever for
supposing expecting <add>any such expectation as,</add> that upon any such terms as in other Colonies any produce
whatever, can shall at any future time be raised: + + I mean of course, within any such space of future time as it is can be consistent with present prudence to have in view undertake to provide for by present arrangements. Neither
in Britain, nor any where else in Europe, will such
gain consumers
pay any thing the more for a commodity of a given
goodness quality on account of its having been raised at the
distance of a seven months-voyage, than if it had
been raised at no greater a distance than that of a
four months or two months voyage. But, coteris
