Provided always, and be it further enacted, That a Copy of such<note>Copies of Con-<lb/>tracts to be<lb/>laid before<lb/>Parliament,<lb/>etc.</note><lb/>Contract or Contracts, as shall be entered into in pursuance of this Act,<lb/>shall be laid before both Houses of Parliament within Thirty Days after<lb/>executing the same, if Parliament shall be then sitting, and if Parliament<lb/>shall not be then sitting, within Fourteen Days after the First Meeting<lb/>of Parliament next ensuing, and all Expences attending the Execution of<lb/>this Act shall be defrayed in such Manner as shall and may be agreed<lb/>upon and expressed in such Contract or Contracts ; or in case the same<lb/>shall not be so agreed upon, then the same, or such Part thereof as shall<lb/>be necessary, shall be defrayed by the Lord High Treasurer, or Com-<lb/>missioners of the Treasury for the Time being, and in such Case shall be<lb/>laid before, and annually provided for the Parliament, or otherwise as Par-<lb/>liament shall direct. </p><lb/><p>And be it further an acted, That when the said Penitentiary House<note>His Majesty<lb/>may appoint<lb/>Governors of<lb/>Penitentiary<lb/>Houses.</note><lb/>or Houses shall be erected in pusuance of, and according on, such Con-<lb/>tract or Contracts as aforesaid, or sooner, if Occasion shall require, it<lb/>shall and may be lawful for His Majesty, His Heirs and Successors,<lb/>from Time to Time, by an Order, in Writing, to be notified by the<lb/>Principal Secretary of State for the Home Department, to appoint One<lb/>or more fit and discreet Person or Persons to be Governor or Governors<lb/>of the said Penitentiary House or Houses, to continue in such Office or<lb/>Offices respectively, for such Time, and under such Conditions, as His<lb/>Majesty shall direct, who, being so appointed thereunto, shall have the<lb/>Care, Management, Superintendence, and <sic>Controul</sic> of the same, and of<lb/>their Custody, by the Direction of His Majesty, His Heirs or Successors,<lb/>under such Powers, Directions, Limitations, and Restrictions, as are con-<lb/>gained in an Act, made in the Twenty-fourth Year of His present Ma-<lb/>jesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the effectual Transportation of Felons<lb/>and other Offenders, and to authorize the Removal of Prisoners in certain<lb/>Cases, and for other Purposes therein mentioned, or under such other Direc-<lb/>tins, Limitations, and Restrictions, as His Majesty shall, under the<lb/>Powers of the said Act, from Time to Time, appoint.</p>
