In this the idea is formed in the mind, it is then <hi rend='underline'>ideally</hi> , expressed upon the surface it is afterwards to be traced upon, the hand guiding the tool at an almost imperceptible distance & following the eye as it conceives the image & applies it to the surface where it is to be expressed.
