As to vices, follies and passions
folly there was none (nothing that could
come fairly under that name) on either
side. Vices and passions the same on the
one and on the other bench — in kind the
same as every Lawyer brings with him
and leaves behind him in any Bench
situate lying and being in the Great
Hall.

power was to do a little good in a bad
way — in such a way as to countervail the
good — raise up mischief enough to
