Draught of a Contract between the Lords Commissioners of the
Treasury and Jeremy Bentham, Esquire.

August 1799. Amendments to be made in the original Draft as
printed in the Appendix to the 28th Report of the Committee of the House
of Commons on Finance, beginning p. 66

No 1. At pag. 67. line . Instead of the clause beginning "And whereas the said
Lords Commissioners have accordingly fixed" and ending

insert as follows. And whereas the said Lords Commissioners have accordingly
fixed upon a certain price or parcel of ground for the purpose of this
Act situate and being in the several contiguous Parishes of St Margaret, St John the Evangelist,
and St George Hanover Square, all in the City and Liberty of Westminster
and County of Middlesex, containing Acres or thereabouts, and now or late in the possession
of [+] [+] Here insert the names of the several Occupiers according to the Deed for appointment of the inserting in the instance of Pothill Fields the several as follows viz: The several persons having rights of common in, upon or in relation to the said Waste or any part thereof, — upon which said price or parcel of ground or upon such part thereof as shall
eventually be to be purchased and shall accordingly have been purchased under
the powers of the said Act, and of such other Act or Acts, if any, as shall
have been made and passed for the amendment of the said Act and for the
enlargement of the said powers
