of matter, is gone away so as to be scarcely visible without coming to a supuration;
and there is has left but a very little hardness behind: but then in its stead there is come
another swelling under my left arm. It is transversely in the arm pit and ressembles a
cord or roll of flesh about the height and breadth of one's little finger, but longer reaching
from the fore to the hinder part. There are besides this other lesser ones almost adjoining
and parallel. I applied for some time a plaister poultice of bread & milk with a little
ril and changed it every 2 or 3 hours, but as I tied it on by a handkercheif which
passed round my neck, the whole together made such a thickness under my arm that
the under fleshy part of the arm became inflamed, so that I discontinued my poultice
and applied a softening plaister of I know not what which being thin & kept on by a linen
bandage promises to be of more benefit.
