Ratiocinative Now as to the pay and attendance coupled together: the closeness of the attendance which it is supposed will be submitted to, and the moderateness of the pay which it is supposed will be accepted: for in regard to probability of acceptance of the situation, these considerations as they apply to the situation of the principal who is in possession, so do they to that of the Depute who is but in expectancy, and with added force.
The quantum of pay for which, in to a situation which subjects a man to another's power and at the same time while it gives him none, a man is content to give the requisite quantum of attendance.
