Sir
I write merely to acknowledge your obliging
attention in correcting a misconstruction, given
by me to some expressions in your second
paper on the Stock Note project. I certainly
had supposed that your first paper on that
subject was remaining in the hands of some
official friend, to whom it had been communicated.
Happening to be a little occupied
at present, I cannot attempt to discuss
the ingenious problems which you
offer to me, on Government paper, Government
securities &c.
