4. Down to the last moment, the supposition which the historian
proceeds upon is — that whatever hard money ever finds its way
into the Colony in any shape, though it be but in halfpence,
will (unless measures such as he suggests be employ'd) find itself under a perpetual impossibility of staying
there. These remedies are such as inexperienced good
sense would naturally suggest, but of the compleat and radical inefficacy
of which, history, and the reflections that have been grounded
themselves on that history, would have informed him.
