affects the quantity:

Where the quantity of damage which actually eventually was intended ensued is is the very as much as the quantity
intended which actually ensues eventually ensues the act may be said to be adequately
intentional with respect to its consequences;

when not so much, inadequately; (the intention falls short of the event:) when more,
more than adequately; the intention goes beyond
