XV.

XVI
A license on paper not only stamped according to Art.
XV. shall [not be valid untill duty be paid together

XVII
Every Inn Alehouse keeper or Innkeeper shall on demand
by any officer of the stamp-duties, [forthwith] produce his license, &
permit at his own the officer at the officers own expence to have a copy thereof, of it:
on pain of 40s.
XVIII.
For selling at his selling without license the penalty besides costs shall be
for the first offence 40s; or if not paid within 14 days
after judgment, imprisonment for one month: for the
2d, 4th, or if not paid within 7 days, imprisonment
for 1 2 months; for the 3d, & every subsequent
one, 6£, or one if not paid within 3 days, imprisonment
for 3 months: in either case with costs the town what shall remain
of the imprisonment to be remitted in any case upon payment of
the penalty. The prosecution before one Justice.
XIX
Prosecution shall be before a one single Justice
A Justice, suspecting a person to sell Ale without license
may cause him to appear together with any Excise
