I am a little surprised to hear of several Gentlemen of Oxford hereabouts: Mr Capper was of Christ Church, & there is another of that College, whom I remember at Westminster School, that lives at Debenham, a Mr Forrester. Mr Chevalier, it seems, has managed well in the comfortable state if matrimony: he had not, I believe been many weeks married when we were here last: since when he has had 4 children, 2 of which are dead, & a 5th is expected. Mr Bacon died very rich: it is said here, that besides his estates, he left 60,000 in money. My cousin & Mrs Ray both enjoy very good health in the : yesterday indeed he had some symptoms of an approaching fit of the cholick, but he is better today: he now & then gets on horseback, & takes a little exercise: they both desire their best respects to your & my mother.
