Dear Saml.
I have been very much engag'd of late, & cod not get time to
set Pen to paper to answer yours of the 10th instt., and now I am
by no means in a mood for writing having a great weight in
my head which perhaps is owing to the weight of the air, from
the appearance of Rain; but I was unwilling you shod think
I neglected you - you have been so much in the habit of flying
about to different places, yt you may well be called a
Ubiquarian - I hope it answers to you, in the acquisition of
knowledge, or at least of health - you will now I imagin
think of setting down in pursuit of your litterary Scheme, as
there seems at present to be no opening for any thing else —
with regard to my remittance of your quarters allowance,
your recommend it to me to look into your account of the
Xmas Quarter, I have done so, & there find, I sent you ye 4th Jany
last £15 - but perhaps you had forgot, that I had sent you
two Sums of £10 Each, for your Michaeas Quarter, making £20,
wch. added to ye £15, makes £35 for the half year, & wch. is the half
of £70 I agreed to allow you by the year.
