Ples: to whom they seem to more violent than against
me afford them as they imagine an opportunity of revenging
themselve's on him. For though they know that
what Ples: said was nothing more than true, yet they with
reason conclude that the Empress would be higly displeased
and think herself obliged to shew her displeasure at Ples:'s
making use of her name. The aunt, means after thanking
her Majesty for some favours lately conferred on her, means
by way of introducing the subject, to beg her Majesty not
to counterbalance all her kindness by encouraging an
unsuitable match with her niece. The Empress will then of
course promise not to do it or perhaps appear surprised
that she should be expected of it, and the aunt will then
