in conjunction with you, I doubt not the probity of this
gentleman, but I fear much that from the circumstance
of Orlando being a connection of his, and
both Islanders, that the people of the continent
may suspect some treachery and unfair dealing, and
as many of the military chiefs are certainly averse in
toto to a loan from an apprehension of their power
being destroyed by it, this circumstance & the jealousy
already existing between the Islands and the Continent
will make an excellent handle for them to create
dissensions.
