M<hi rend="underline">r</hi> R. Wharton
" He had a letter from a Gentleman, who for many
"years had been a Magistrate, and who was a little
"disposed to alarm as any man he knew. This Gentle
"man said, 'my firm and most deliberate opinion
"is, that unless we have the protection of a strong force
"for this and the neighbouring County, property will
"no longer be secure. The pitmen have their meeting
"more than usually secret The Lambton property
"is already parcelled out [hear hear] for an agrarian
"law is already the order of the day."

"As for the idea of an Agrarian Law, he did not believe
"that it existed, and he had no apprehension of
"that division which the Honourable Gentleman
(M<hi rend="underline">r</hi> Wharton) "had been so kind as to inform
